ARTIST STATEMENT

As an abstract artist based in Portland, Oregon, my goal is to create visually captivating artworks that resonate with viewers and their unique interpretations. My medium of choice is acrylic or watercolor paint, and I love experimenting with new and unexpected color combinations. Through the use of bold brushstrokes and texture, I imbue my works with a sense of movement and depth, while always striving for compositional balance.

My inspiration comes from the tranquility and serenity I experience on my outdoor adventures and travels. I strive to capture these emotions in every piece that I create. As a self-taught artist, my style and techniques are always evolving.

My artwork has been showcased in several galleries and exhibitions, including a Scott Brothers release at Living Spaces and Kirklands. As a 1% for the Planet Business Partner, I am committed to using my art to promote environmental conservation and give back to the community.

ABOUT

Britt is an accomplished consultant with a degree in Economics from the University of Georgia. Her expertise lies in implementing large-scale technology transformations for clients and consulting. In 2019, she embarked on a new adventure, leaving Atlanta, Georgia for the cooler climes and stunning natural beauty of Portland, Oregon. Now just an hour away from both the coast and the mountains, Britt loves exploring the outdoors and finding inspiration for her art with her mini-bernedoodle, Walter.

Although Britt has always had a passion for creative expression, it wasn't until 2016 that she began sharing her art with the world through an Instagram page. She is primarily self-taught, preferring to explore her creativity without boundaries or restrictions. Britt's art is a reflection of her desire for freedom and spontaneity, with each piece imbued with a sense of energy and movement.

When Britt isn't working on consulting projects or creating art, she is often on the road, exploring new places and experiencing new adventures. In August 2018, she accomplished her first travel goal by visiting all 50 states. National Parks hold a special place in her heart, and she is always seeking out new places to hike and explore. Through her art, Britt aims to share the sense of calm and solitude she experiences while surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Britt is always seeking new business ideas and creative outlets and in 2023, she opened her second business Rose City Jewels specializing in custom permanent jewelry.
